Repair & troubleshooting

Electrical repair and troubleshooting

Flickering lights, dead outlets, breakers that won't stay on. We find the cause, explain it in plain English, and fix it safely.

What we do

  • Outlet and switch repair

  • Breaker and service panel repair

  • Wiring repair and troubleshooting

  • Lighting and fixture repair

  • GFCI and AFCI protection

  • Solar panel removal and reinstall for re-roofing

Call an electrician if you notice

If you smell burning or see smoke, turn off power at the main breaker if it's safe to do so, get everyone out, and call 911.

What affects the price

Every home is different, so we quote after we look. These are the things that move the price most. You get the full price in writing before any work starts.

  • How long it takes to find the cause
  • Parts, like breakers, outlets or a section of wire
  • How hard the problem is to reach
  • Whether the fix needs a permit

Electrical repair questions

Should I call an electrician or try it myself?

When in doubt, call. Electrical problems can be dangerous, and we can tell you quickly whether a visit is needed.

Will I know the cost before you start?

Yes. We explain what we found and what the repair will cost before we start.

Do you fix electrical problems on solar systems?

Yes. Solar is part of your home's electrical system. See our solar repair service for details.

Do you charge to come out and diagnose a problem?

We'll tell you our trip and diagnostic cost when you call, before we come out.

Why do my breakers keep tripping?

Usually an overloaded circuit, a short or a failing breaker. Repeated tripping is a warning, so have it checked rather than resetting it again and again.
