Garage and exterior installs
Good to know before you buy a charger
- A standard wall outlet charges slowly
- Most homes need a dedicated 240V circuit
- Your panel's capacity decides what's possible
- Placement affects cost, so plan where you park
From quote to first charge
Check your panel
We look at your panel's capacity and where you park, so the charger and circuit fit your home.
Written quote
You get one price in writing, including any panel work the charger needs.
Install and test
We run the circuit, mount the charger, get it permitted and inspected, and make sure it charges your car.
What affects the price
Every home is different, so we quote after we look. These are the things that move the price most. You get the full price in writing before any work starts.
- How far your parking spot is from the panel
- Whether your panel has room for a new 240V circuit
- The charger's amperage
- Whether the wire runs through a finished wall, attic or outside
- Whether you supply the charger or we do
- Permit and inspection fees
What homeowners say
“Dallin and the crew did an amazing job installing my Tesla wall charger and even went the extra mile and did a couple other electrical tasks I requested of them. Communication was great and work quality was superb. I've also never used a contractor that was so careful to completely clean up after themselves. That small detail is a huge deal to me.”
EV chargers questions
Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?
Not always. We check your panel's capacity and existing loads first, and only recommend an upgrade if it's needed.
Can you install a charger I already bought?
In most cases, yes, as long as it's a listed, code-compliant unit. Tell us the model when you reach out.
Can my EV charge from my solar?
Your charger runs on the same home system your solar feeds, so solar can offset that charging. We can help you plan solar, a battery and an EV together.
What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging?
Level 1 uses a regular 120V outlet and adds only a few miles of range per hour. Level 2 uses a 240V circuit and can usually refill a typical day's driving overnight.
Do I need a permit for an EV charger?
Yes. A new 240V circuit needs a permit and inspection. We file it and schedule the inspection.
