From first call to inspection
Check your panel
We look at your panel, your existing loads and what you plan to add, then tell you whether you need an upgrade at all.
Written quote
You get the scope and price in writing before any work starts, including any utility work.
Install and inspection
We pull the permit, coordinate the power shutoff with your utility, install the panel and schedule the inspection.
What affects the price
Every home is different, so we quote after we look. These are the things that move the price most. You get the full price in writing before any work starts.
- The size of the new service, for example moving from 100 to 200 amps
- Whether your utility has to change the meter or the line to your house
- Whether the panel stays where it is or has to move
- How many circuits move to the new panel
- Permit and inspection fees
- Room left for solar, a battery or an EV charger
Panel upgrades questions
How do I know if I need a panel upgrade?
Frequent tripping, flickering lights, a warm or buzzing panel, or plans to add big new loads are the usual signs. We'll check your panel and existing loads before recommending anything.
Do I need a panel upgrade for solar, a battery or an EV charger?
Sometimes. It depends on your panel's capacity and what's already on it. We check first so you only upgrade if you need to.
Do you handle permits and utility coordination?
Yes. We pull permits and coordinate the shutoff with your utility, whether that's Rocky Mountain Power or a city power department like St. George or Washington City.
How long will my power be off?
Usually most of one day for a panel swap. We'll tell you the expected window when we schedule the work.
Is a 200-amp panel enough for solar, a battery and an EV?
Often, but not always. It depends on your home's loads. A load calculation tells us for sure, and we'll show you the numbers.
